Earthly Angels

Yes! We have them all around us!  Here is one of them complete with a mask covering her beautiful face but not her beautiful and caring heart.  This is Amanda who is a dedicated nurse, wife and a mother. Yes, she is pictured in her battle fatigues and all suited up for a battle with an invisible enemy named Covid-19.

I’m sure some of you may remember the Lone Ranger and Tonto who galloped on their horses into situations where harm was being done to an innocent victim.  They came to the rescue to turn the day around.  The Lone Ranger wore his mask over his eyes so he would not be recognized.  Amanda and so many others in the medical profession wear their masks differently,  covering most of their faces trying to protect themselves as best as they can. They, too, are there for the innocent ones, the victims who were taken unaware.

Yes, they are angels; earthly angels to be present at bedsides where family cannot be now. They are there to take the place of a husband, wife, mother, father, sister or brother. They are bridging the gap and closing it with love. They are keeping vigil at bedsides like never before

I pay tribute now to Amanda and to the rest of the medical profession. To the medical profession and all the key people fighting this horrific war at the front lines.

Yes, we are in a war, a physical war against something we have never seen the likes of before. It’s universal, hitting every country, state, village, city, town and home; cleared the highways, byways and roads; emptied schoolrooms and places of worship. . . It’s sent us running to our homes to take cover.

What are we to do?

Well, there is an invisible army; an army of heavenly angels who are fighting the battle right alongside the earthly angels.  We need to call on them now like never before!  Who are they?  Well, I think I got a glimpse of them in a dream I experienced early Holy Thursday morning.  I invite you into this dream now, introducing you to the “Three” that I was gifted to see, but first the viewing of the swans!

The New Years Eve Swans

Many years ago, my husband and I took a drive in the late afternoon on New Year’s Eve.  We went to the North Shore of Long Island to just sit by Cold Spring Harbor. It’s a place of beauty and peace. We just wanted to spend some time gazing out at the water this last day of the year and experience the calmness. We had not a clue that we would soon be experiencing nature at its best!

Just sitting there and taking it all in, we both looked up together at the sky and there seemed to be seagulls flying in for a landing.

We realized very quickly that we were not seeing seagulls!  Indeed, we were seeing two majestic swans coming in for a landing into the waters of Cold Spring Harbor!  This was happening right before our very eyes as we sat riveted in the seats of the car.

As silly as it sounds, I did not have a clue that swans could fly and I don’t think my husband knew either.  We were in complete shock and awe watching these creatures of beauty gracefully fly in! It was a memory that I have kept forever and it seemed to be a prelude for my Holy Thursday dream.  So now I invite you into my dream and the meaning that was discerned from this gift.

The Holy Thursday Dream

The dream took place with me in a car again and I found myself this time in a back seat looking out the rear window. I was in the parking lot of the Cathedral of the Incarnation which is a beautiful Gothic church located on Cathedral Avenue in Garden City, New York. As I sat gazing out the back window, I saw birds flying in the air.  They seemed to be in formation and at first I thought they were geese as we had thought the swans were seagulls in the New Year’s Eve experience shared above with my husband.

As the birds approached my vantage point of viewing, I realized they weren’t geese at all.  They were three huge angels flying above my head.  I quickly got out of the car. I wasn’t afraid but honestly they seemed to be like 747 planes with wing spans like I never saw before. My eyes followed them as they flew over Westminster Road parallel to Cathedral. One angel was in front with two in formation behind him.  They had bows and arrows and were shooting them downwards towards the neighboring homes and streets.

All of a sudden I found myself at the base of a Ferris wheel and standing beside me was my husband. We were both gazing up towards the top of the Ferris wheel where perched above was one of the angels. It seemed reporters were taking pictures of him and asking questions. All I heard was that the angel was speaking something about the “father” and the “number four.”

My husband then asked me if I heard what the angel said? I replied “yes, every night a friend tells me this.”

And then the dream ended.

What’s It All About?

It seemed to be very clear when I discerned it with someone. Yes, we are in a great spiritual battle right now and it’s an invisible war that we cannot see but mark my words, the angels are very present. Yes, they were shooting arrows at the invisible enemies that are written about in scripture that we do battle with everyday.

The Ferris wheel indicated “pleasure,” pretty much like the “cruise ship” that I dreamt of months ago.  They represent pleasures of the world and earthly distractions that take us away from God and worshipping Him.

But there was a missing piece to the dream.  I heard the word “Father” and the “number four” and the discernment of what this meant just wasn’t coming.

So my friend and I prayed on it and continued to pray on it until the evening of Good Friday when we would be in prayer once again.

We had been discussing the dream and also speaking of Covid 19 and the havoc that was being inflicted in such a universal way throughout the world. We both reflected on the thought that we had been sent to our rooms, all of us, to go deep into our hearts and see how our lives had been ordered or disordered. And then the “number four” showed itself in our conversation.

As we conversed we spoke of instances in our lives where maybe “our wills were being done” rather than “Thy Will Be Done,” not “my will.”   “Oh my God!” I yelled into the phone and blew their eardrums out!  That’s it!  The “Father” and the number four!  Just four little words, “Thy Will Be Done.”

That was what the dream was all about; The spiritual warfare of “our wills be done” when we follow the promptings of the evil one sent to destroy our souls and the “Thy Will Be Done” that only brings “Goodness” and “Eternal Life.”

St. Michael and the Archangels

Who is helping us now in this battle of good and evil being waged upon our earth and upon our souls?

St. Michael, the Prince of the Church, whose battle cry is “Who is Like Unto God?”

Why did he proclaim these words in the Heavenly Courts? The Catechism of the Catholic Church gives the following account in  #391:

“Behind the disobedient choice of our first parents lurks a seductive voice, opposed to God, which makes them fall into death out of envy. Scripture and the Church’s Tradition, see in this being a fallen angel, called “Satan” or the “devil.” The Church teaches that Satan was at first a good angel, made by God: “The devil and the other demons were indeed created naturally good by God, but they became evil by their own doing.”

#392 of the Catechism goes on to tell us the following:

“Scripture speaks of a sin of these angels. This “fall” consists in the free choice of these created spirits, who radically and irrevocably rejected God and his reign. We find a reflection of that rebellion in the tempter’s words to our first parents: “You will be like God.”

The Devil has sinned from the beginning; he is a liar and the father of lies.

And so St. Michael yells out the battle cry, “Who is Like Unto God” and leads the Heavenly Armies of Angels to do battle for us here on earth right now!  Yes, in our time with us, as well, at the front line!

It is St. Michael’s Time

It is “Our Time”

It’s “Time” to Do Battle at the Front Lines

A Dedication of this Blog to Dr. Lorna Breen

Just last night I was notified of the following news and so I dedicate this blog to Dr. Lorna Breen:

“The head of the emergency department at a Manhattan hospital committed suicide after spending days on the front lines of the Coronavirus battle,” her family said on Monday, April 27th. “She tried to do her job, and it killed her,” Dr. Philip Breen told the New York Times of his physician daughter, Dr. Lorna Breen, who had been medical director of the New York – Presbyterian Allen Hospital amid the pandemic.

The battle-weary ER doctor, 49, was only the latest city healthcare worker to take her own life.”

Let us pray united together with all the earthly and heavenly angels to implore God’s Mighty Hand to put an end to this deadly virus that is wreaking havoc in all places of the world and in our homes and hearts!
